5 questions to discover which career cluster actually suits who you are.

"Follow your passion" is probably the most common career advice and among the least reliable. Cal Newport's research-based critique of passion-first career thinking argues that passion for a job typically develops as a consequence of becoming skilled at it, not as a prerequisite for choosing it. The jobs people describe as their dream jobs are almost never the ones they started out passionate about — they are the ones they got good at, which created competence, then autonomy, then mastery, then genuine passion.
Career satisfaction research identifies several more robust predictors than passion. Alignment between the job's intrinsic demands and your working style (do you prefer structured or unstructured? collaborative or independent? predictable or varied?). Alignment between the job's outcomes and your core values (do you need to feel you are helping people? creating things? understanding things?). Progressive skill development — jobs that offer ongoing challenge and growth produce more sustained satisfaction than comfortable but stagnant roles. Autonomy over method — the ability to choose how you do your work, even if not what you do.
This quiz identifies your dominant working style preferences and values orientation, then maps these to broad career clusters — not specific job titles but directions. The output is a starting point for reflection and exploration, not a verdict. Real career planning involves research into specific roles, conversations with people already doing those jobs, and usually some experimentation through side projects or internships.
This quiz is not professional careers advice. For significant career decisions, speaking to a qualified career counsellor or using validated career assessment tools (Holland Code, Clifton Strengths, MBTI with professional interpretation) will provide more depth.
