Frequently Asked Questions
What does the weirdness percentile mean?
Your percentile shows how your answers compare to a fictional baseline of normal behaviour. It is completely made up and entirely for fun.
Is it bad to score high on the weirdness scale?
Absolutely not. High weirdness scores are a badge of honour. Being weird means you think differently and that is a gift.
How are the questions scored?
Each answer has a hidden weirdness value from 0 to 10. Your total across all questions determines your percentile bracket.
Can I share my weirdness badge?
Yes — copy your result and share it. People love comparing scores.
Is this a psychological test?
No. This is purely for entertainment and has no scientific or psychological validity whatsoever.
How Weird Are You? Self-Assessment and the Psychology of Eccentricity
Eccentricity — behaviour or thinking that deviates from social norms — exists on a spectrum. Research on eccentricity by David Weeks (Eccentrics: A Study of Sanity and Strangeness, 1995) studied hundreds of identified eccentrics and found a consistent cluster of characteristics: non-conforming, creative, strongly motivated by curiosity, unusual hobbies and interests, not particularly concerned with others' opinions. Notably, the eccentrics studied showed lower stress and illness rates than average — possibly because non-conformity reduces the psychological cost of impression management.
This quiz assesses self-reported oddity across domains: interests, thinking patterns, social behaviour, and aesthetic preferences. The result is a fun percentage placement on the weird-to-conventional spectrum.
